ROBER SPECIAL WORKS
Description
Special workmanship is possible on any type of flat or curved glass, featuring decorative cuts, special finishing or necessary cuts to anchor the glass to supporting structures; examples include ticket slits, cut corners, voice holes, natural bevel, flat shiny bevel (up to 50mm thickness), colored plastic, heat or alarm filaments.
Special workmanship on any type of flat glass:
beveling, flat beveling, OG beveling, triple pencil beveling.
Drilled holes for passing or anchoring can be made on any type of flat glass:
Hole diameter
The hole diameter should generally be equal or more than the nominal glass thickness.
Hole positioning
The hole position must be calculated depending on the distance from the glass edge to the hole border.
Other factors:
nominal glass thickness (d)
dimensions of the pane (b, h)
hole diameter (O)
shape of the glass
number of drilled holes
The distance, a, from the edge of the hole to the edge of the glass, must not be less than twice the thickness of the glass
The distance, b, between the borders of two holes, must not be less than twice the thickness of the glass
The distance, c, from the border of a hole to the corner of the glass pane, must not be less than 6 times the thickness of the glass
C >= 6d
POSITIONING OF DOWELS
(C1) supporting dowels - A
(C2) peripheral dowels - B
(C3) safety dowels - C
Except for vertical rotating frames, there must be 2 supporting dowels located on the bottom of the lower groove near the corners, about 1/10 of the length of the groove (to the right of the gliding points for horizontal gliding frames).
For vertical axel frames, either pivot or side swing, one dowel in the upper part of the side with handle and a second lower dowel positioned:for side swing frames, near the hinge.
For pivot frames, near the rotating axel.
An extra supporting dowel may be necessary on the bottom of the vertical grooves. Lateral dowels must be counterbalanced (on two sides) at center and near the corners. The space between the dowels must not exceed 1m.
Positioning of supporting and peripheral dowels
These dowels must be positioned as shown in the diagram, without adding other ones in different positions.
The distance between the supporting dowels and the glass border should be about 1/10 of the length of the glass
The distance between the external edge of the dowel and the border of the glass should be equal to 1/20 of the length of the glass.
