The boating industry requires glass with high mechanical and optical performances.  The absence of any slight imperfection, high visibility standards and extreme resistance to pressure are fundamental features. 

 Chemical tempering is a must to obtain such high performance for flat and curved products. Rober Glass was among the first glassworks in Europe to acquire a large oven to chemically harden glass of any shape or size.
